Confirmed defective laser - it was thoroughly cleaned and inspected - it rarely reads CDs, and definitely DOES NOT read DVDs. This unit is in excellent shape otherwise and comes with the original Panasonic remote control. Any value is in the factory remote and in the main unit being scavengeable for clean parts.
