The curved knife measures 16 inches long x 2 inches wide. The handle is 4 inches long with a 12 inch blade and measures 17 inches long in the sheath. This Gurka Kukri knife blade is made of a very shiny stainless steel with an etched design surrounding the word India engraved on it. The Gurka fighters from India in the 1950s used this kind of crooked knives. The Kukri is a traditional knife of Nepal. The wooden sheath is wrapped in black leather and has a decorative design as well as a brass tip to it and a loop for hanging up to display it. This pre-owned item is in wonderful condition and would be a great addition to any collection. It is a rare find indeed. It is very hard to get a good photo displaying the design without getting a lot of shine hindering the display of the wonderful etched work. It is really elegant to see.
