Manufactured in Japan. 1970s Pioneer receivers are famous for their aesthetics and reliability and the SX-580 is no exception, with the combination features, functionality and ergonomics which have kept Pioneer so highly regarded even after 40+ years. Retail price in the 1979 catalogue was $255.00. That is equivalent to nearly $1,100 in today's dollars. This receiver has been FULLY RESTORED AND UPGRADED beyond factory specs! All electrolytic capacitors have been replaced and upgraded to a higher voltage rating to ensure longevity. Upgraded with LED lighting which runs cooler, draws less power and will last forever compared to the original incandescent bulbs which ran hot and required frequent replacement. The LED bulbs are of the "warm white" variety which maintains the original vintage aesthetic. Option exists to swap the LEDs to blue for a more modern appearance if you prefer (+$20 charge). The walnut woodgrain vinyl veneer is pristine, giving this unit a 'brand new' appearance.
