This is a very good example of the Premier 1025 steel shell snare drum. It has a date stamp inside the shell "3478" which would date it to August 1978. The shell is 5.5" x 14". The chrome on the beaded steel shell and on the hoops is generally in excellent condition (as you would expect from a Premier drums of this period) although there are just a few minor rust spots. The 8 lugs are in excellent condition and appear to have the original inserts. The drum is just late enough to have the square head tension rods. The internal damper is present and works just fine, as does the original snare strainer. The drum has a brand new Aquarian snare side head, and a nearly new Evans G2 coated batter head. I have it at a medium tuning, and the drum sounds amazing. I am very reluctant to sell this drum, as it goes very well with my early 2000's Premier birch shell drums. However, I am trying to thin out my collection.
