We are looking to hire a caregiver, primarily as permanent day staff. There are two shifts available permanently (Sunday and Monday) as well as the potential to temporarily take over four full shifts (Friday to Monday). The expanded schedule would start in early March for 4-6 weeks, while another staff member is away. The shifts are 12 hours, from 7 AM to 7 PM. Before you start there will need to be training shifts, which will be paid. I am an adult with a physical disability (spinal muscular atrophy) and require assistance with essentially all physical tasks, and I direct my own care verbally. I am a bed bound individual. Daytime responsibilities will include toileting, assisted coughing, chest physio, positioning, setting up a BiPAP (assisted breathing machine), working with a feeding tube, and some additional household duties like basic cleaning and cooking. We are able to train some of these specific skills to people for the first time. During most of the day I enjoy my own time on my computer, or I work remotely on weekdays. My staff tend to bring their iPads/books/homework/computer to occupy their time, as there are periods of downtime. The afternoon tends to be busier. Pay is $23.50 an hour. Please submit a current resume including 3 recent references.
